WashClub's commitment to workplace health and safety and hygienic laundry processing in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and NZS 4146:2000.

WashClub is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all workers, contractors, customers, and visitors at our premises. This policy is aligned with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (HSWA).
- WashClub management takes primary responsibility for health and safety at 93 Lansford Crescent, Avondale.
- All staff receive induction training covering hazard identification, safe chemical handling, and emergency procedures before commencing work.
- Hazards are identified, assessed, and controlled using the hierarchy of controls (eliminate, substitute, engineer, administer, PPE).
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) — including gloves, aprons, and closed-toe footwear — is provided and mandatory in processing areas.
- All incidents, near-misses, and injuries are recorded in the incident register and reported to management within 24 hours.
- Notifiable events are reported to WorkSafe New Zealand as required under HSWA regulations.
- Regular safety inspections of the premises are conducted monthly, with findings documented and actioned.
- Emergency procedures, including evacuation routes and assembly points, are displayed prominently and reviewed every 6 months.
- Workers are encouraged to participate in health and safety decisions and may raise concerns at any time without fear of reprisal.

Premises & Equipment
Machines are maintained, cleaned, and serviced on schedule. Work areas are kept tidy, well-lit, and ventilated.
Chemical Safety
SDS sheets for all laundry chemicals are held on-site and accessible to staff. Chemicals are stored in labelled, ventilated areas away from processed linen.
Hygiene & Separation
Strict dirty/clean separation is maintained. Hand-wash stations are available and staff wash hands between handling soiled and clean loads.
Training & Competency
All workers complete induction and refresher training covering HSWA, NZS 4146:2000, chemical safety, and manual handling.
Incident Reporting
Every incident and near-miss is recorded. Notifiable events are escalated to WorkSafe NZ. Records are retained for 5 years.
Auditing & Review
Internal audits are conducted quarterly. This policy and its procedures are reviewed by management.

WashClub management is committed to maintaining a safe workplace and processing all laundry to the standards required by NZS 4146:2000. This policy is communicated to all workers, made available on request, and reviewed following any significant incident or change in operations.
